How will I receive my equipment?

The majority of our orders we have our technican deliver, setup and pickup the equipment. However, If you don’t require a technician, your equipment may be delivered to you via courier or express delivery service, directly to your office, home, or meeting location. GEC does not have staffed retail locations for customers to pick up or drop off equipment.

Why are you delivering my equipment the day prior to my rental date? Will I be charged for this extra day?

With most orders we deliver your equipment the day prior to your rental date for no additional charge. This allows you the opportunity to set up for your event or practice your presentation.

How do I return my rental equipment back to GEC?

We include pre-paid adhesive FedEx return labels along with our projectors and laptops. After using your equipment, simply affix this label to the outside of the small shipping briefcase container and drop it in any Fed Ex drop box for return. Bulkier equipment, such as screens or sound systems, will be picked up after your event.

What if I have trouble with my equipment or it doesn’t work?

All equipment is tested before we deliver it to you. However, if you do have an equipment problem, you can reach a GEC technician for help. If we cannot fix the problem, we will replace your rental equipment by the quickest means possible – even if that means renting equipment from another company.

How can I change or cancel a previously placed order? Will I be charged for a cancellation?

Call 1-877.736.8432 to change or cancel an order. You may cancel your order with 5 business days notice prior to the beginning of your rental period for any reason and receive either a refund or a credit towards a future order. If you cancel your order within 5 business days of the beginning of your rental period, you may receive a credit towards a future order. Any cancellations made the same day as the rental date will not be eligible for a credit or refund. This includes cancellations for orders placed the same day as your rental date.

Where can GEC deliver equipment to?

GEC services the entire United States, and can deliver equipment same-day to 95% of the country.

Video Conferencing FAQ

We would like to rent a videoconferencing system. How do I configure my ports & firewall?

To make calls through a firewall, you must open the following ports and assign them to the videoconferencing system:

389 (TCP) - ILS registration
1503 (TCP) - Microsoft NetMeeting T.120 data shaсng
1718 (UDP) - Gatekeeper discovery
1719 (UDP) - Gatekeeper RAS (must be bidirectional)
1720 (TCP) - H.323 call set-up (must be bidirectional)
1731 (TCP) - Audio call control (must be bidirtional)
3230-3235 (TCP/UDP) - Signalling and control for audio, call, video, and data/FECC
3603 (TCP) - Web interface

Configuring the System to Operate Behind a Network Address Translation
The System is behind a Network Address Translation (NAT) option allows the user make calls outside the internal network.

1. Determine the NAT’s external (WAN) IP address.
2. Determine the IP address of the system. This can be found in the System Info miati on screen.
3. Go to Quality of Service and Firewalls screen (System Info> Admin Setup> [AN/H.323> H.323> QOS).
4. Select Use Fixed Ports.
5. Select System is behind a NAT.
6. Enter the NAT’s external IP address into the NAT outside (WAN) address field.
7. Write down the Fixed TCP and UDP port numbers displayed on this screen. The default values are:
TCP: 3230 to 3231 UDP: 3230 to 3235
8. Reset the firewall’s fixed ports from step 4 to be permanently open, and redirect them to the IP address of your system.
9. To accept incoming calls, open and redirect port 1720 to the IP address of your system.
